Highschool camp - Day 5

This was the best day by far. We went to the beach in the afternoon, and we did some crazy things. I'll put pictures on here later when I have time. Very awesome. It was tons of fun.

So afterwards we walk up to the parking lot, and on the way there, I'm thinking..."hmm...ok...I'm carrying God's kingdom in me now...I just want to spend some time with You Lord."...and then...I pass a family with this man with a cast on...and like a siren going off in me it's like...PRAY FOR THAT GUY...and I'm like...No!!! Not again! I can't do that! Finally I said...Ok Lord. If that guy passes me again (which is highly unlikely because I am going much faster than him) then I might pray for him. Suddenly my friend comes up and says, "Elisabeth! Take a picture of me hugging a tree! I need one to send to Caitlin!" So of course while I do that, he and his family pass by and I am freaked out. In the end, my friend Rachel and I go pray for him, and I don't think he got healed immediately or anything...but I think God blessed him and his family. And I was ecstatic about having finally done what I was supposed to, as opposed to Monday.

That evening far surpassed the crazy log-stacking-people-endangering stuff. We had to do worship last and speaking first cause everyone went in the mud pit and was late for chapel. At the moment I don't remember what was talked about because...I don't have my notes with me. But I do have them. They're in the book that everyone got at camp...and I didn't have the book for like a whole day because the speaker (Mike) accidentally grabbed my book and took off with it! Like to two hours away or something like that! It was unintelligible though because all of it was backwards handwriting.
Um...so back to the point. We got into worship and then the leaders were compelled to have those of us who spoke in tongues to pray for those who didn't, and so like 3 people came up to me for prayer, 2 were filled with the Spirit in under 5 minutes each, and I have no idea what anyone else was doing...it was God's work that's all. So I think a lot of people got filled with the Spirit. And that was the best night. Plus great conversations by the campfire.

And that's the week of camp.

Highschool camp - Day 4

Um...worship was good. Pastor Mike talked about hearing God's voice. It was still more of a reestablishing thing...than a 'wow I didn't know that'.

We had a lot of fun after chapel...Nastia started a whole fad of arm wrestling which got to be very interesting. If I could put a video on my website I would, because it was the bomb seeing all these guys yelling their heads off and a huge crowd gathering around to see what was going on. One match, we started out with about 5 people watching and by the end, about 30 people had gathered around them.

Highschool camp - Day 3

I don't remember anything spectacular that happened this day, except we had to stay at the lake until 3 which was NOT FUN because it was raining. We all wore garbage sack ponchos that day.
Oh but the evening, that was spectacular. This one guy got saved which was totally cool.

Highschool camp - Day 2

Today the whole camp wakes up at 5:30 and the leaders aren't very happy. Ah well. It's the raven's fault. CAW CAW CAW.

Went on a hike...got to know a lot of new people...in fact by the end of camp I knew almost everyone in camp...we got to ride in the back of a pickup truck going real fast...soooo fun. I enjoyed it immensely. Not to mention that we found someone's clothes at this enormously high jump into deep water. The next day they were still there, so the guys threw them in the lake.

That night at chapel was the bomb. It started raining during the middle...and Lav was like...we need to be on our knees and praying for rain...so we're on the knees in the dirt and it's totally awesome. It was a very moving, very powerful time.

Highschool camp - Day 1

So rise and shine early at 4:30 am Monday...it's CAMP WEEK! Time passes by swiftly as I repack my suitcase for the third time since the Sunday before. And as I stand in a copying store for 3 hours, hurrying to copy pictures for the Lavender Fest. As I'm in there, this lady comes in...and she's coughing real loud and having a hard time...says she doesn't know what she's allergic to. God tells me to pray for her to be healed. I don't do it. Not good.

I get to camp at 2. We learn there are 53 people camping...and that's a lot more people compared to last year. We stood in a circle around the youth room and barely fit. As the announcements are given before we leave to go to the campsite, we are told NO GUM which is what our cabin leader gave us as a gift. So I used it up watching 'Dead Man's Chest' yesterday. Luckily, it does not rain on the first day, and we have fun setting up stuff in our tents and playing 'Pinecones' (a necessary version of 'Spoons' when you are stuck at a campground without extra spoons)

That night we met the speaker, Mike, and Dave (our soon-to-be-new-youth-pastor) the worship leader. Worship went ok for me...but when Mike started speaking...wow. He started speaking about your gifts and using and not using them...and God just convicted me about how I didn't obey Him that time. So that night I just went up and bawled on Gloria's shoulder for like an hour...well less but it seemed like that. So even the first night was totally amazing.
